The minor in Judaic Studies explores the religion, history, and culture of the Jewish people and their relationships with other cultures throughout the world. Students gain knowledge and understanding of Jewish teachings, traditions, and values; global Jewish communities; and the broader human experience.
The interdisciplinary minor in Judaic Studies consists of 18 credits of coursework, including the foundational course, JST 101 - Jewish Life and Civilization. Guided by a faculty advisor, students design a personalized plan of study that applies creative and critical thinking to the complexities of history and society. The minor in Judaic Studies enhances undergraduate education in the arts and sciences, business, education, and health and human services.

Careers
The minor in Judaic Studies prepares students for graduate education in Judaic Studies and for careers in Jewish education, community service, and philanthropic and cultural organizations. In addition, a background in Judaic Studies enriches professional development for positions in the arts, information sciences, health care, politics, social work, and religious studies.
Scholarships
Students who minor in Judaic Studies are awarded a $3,600 scholarship that is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven. The scholarship is applied to students ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú †.™ final semester of completing the 18-credit minor requirements. The scholarship is open to all students who minor in Judaic Studies.
