The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú †.™ Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership Program prepares educational leaders, researchers, and policymakers in its 4-year, cohort-based program geared toward the working professional.

The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership program is designed to facilitate transformational change in individuals and educational systems by preparing educational leaders in schools and post-secondary institutions for the challenges of our rapidly changing world. The program prepares educational leaders to focus on systemic thinking, taking into account the needs of diverse learners and communities as they strive to improve student experiences and achievement. Our program develops practitioners who are grounded in the latest research and skilled at interpersonal communication.

Our Graduates Become Leaders

Graduates of our program assume prominent positions of leadership in public and private school systems and research and policy organizations in the state of Connecticut, across the nation, and around the globe.

Students admitted to this program are provided a cohort model, rigorous hybrid courses, field-based leadership and research experiences, personalized faculty advisement, classes one night per week, online and campus-based supports/resources, opportunities to publish and present research, and access to professional organizations and networks intended for this most advanced level of study.

Our faculty are leading experts and scholars in the field of Educational Leadership. In addition, our faculty members bring a broad range of experiences from many areas: Leadership roles (principal, superintendent, etc.), in public and private schools, non-profit organizations, and policy sectors. Our faculty aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, making the content of the courses within the program more meaningful for our students.
