The Department of Curriculum and Learning, located in the College of Education, provides students with the knowledge they need to obtain the Connecticut Initial Educators Certificate. Students advance their knowledge of teaching, curriculum, educational theory, educational supervision, and more, and graduate prepared to meet the challenges facing the ever-evolving field of education.

Curriculum and Instruction, M.S. - Digital Teaching and Learning (Hybrid)

Curriculum and Instruction, M.S. - Elementary Education Curriculum (Hybrid)

The Master of Science in Education is a 36-credit program that allows teachers to further their careers and strengthen their pedagogical knowledge while earning a state-approved master ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú †.™s degree. The program is extremely flexible ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú †.“ offering a number of choices in electives and the ability to do some courses as hybrid or online. The capstone project involves working with faculty to research a topic of interest and create a deliverable such as a research-based curriculum unit or handbook.  These action research projects allow students the opportunity to understand or improve their learning community while aligning with ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú's commitment to social justice.

A Master of Science in Curriculum and Learning with a concentration in areas like Computer Science, Digital Teaching and Learning, or Equity and Justice in Education prepares graduates for advanced roles in education. Graduates may work in K ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú †.“12 schools, higher education, nonprofits, or edtech companies. Those with a focus on equity or culture may lead diversity initiatives or curriculum reform. This degree also supports career advancement into roles like department chair or instructional designer, and provides a strong foundation for doctoral study or educational leadership.
